PREFERRED VENDOR LIST

All Virginia Diverse Chamber members automatically become part of the Virginia Diverse Chamber preferred vendor list. The Virginia Diverse Chamber consults this list first when seeking goods and services for the organization. 

Virginia Diverse Chamber E-Directory

The Virginia Diverse Chamber will maintain a website directory of all current in good standing members. This directory will be updated as new members come in. Members who elect not to renew membership will be removed from the directory. This directory will be accessible to anyone who visits the Virginia Diverse Chamber website.

Virginia Diverse Chamber Monthly Membership Spotlight

Each month, a select Virginia Diverse Chamber member company will be featured on the website, Virginia Diverse Chamber Facebook, and Virginia Diverse Chamber E-MAIL ALERTS.

Virginia Diverse Chamber B2B Member-to-Member Discounts

All Virginia Diverse Chamber members will be advised of discounts and perks offered by other Virginia Diverse Chamber member companies.

Virginia Diverse Chamber Members Only Networking Opportunities

Virginia Diverse Chamber will periodically host FREE open meetings for all interested Virginia Diverse Chamber members. These meetings provide informal networking opportunities.

OPEN Networking Opportunities

The Virginia Diverse Chamber will host programs that are open to the general public. These programs will always be free (or minimal charge) to Virginia Diverse Chamber members. Non-members may be required to pay. These are opportunities to exchange business cards, discuss products and services, and discuss possible partnerships and joint ventures.

Training and Technical Assistance

The Virginia Diverse Chamber will survey members to determine training needs, and then secure the assistance of the appropriate professionals to provide the necessary training and technical assistance. As much as possible, this is done without additional costs or fees to members. This training can be provided in the form of workshops, information sessions, one-on-ones, classes, conferences, and more.

Groundbreaking / Grand Opening / Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

Virginia Diverse Chamber member companies who are launching or re-launching their businesses (or new products and services) may request these services from the Virginia Diverse Chamber Services may include assistance in planning the program, preparation and distribution of a press release, posting through the E-MAIL ALERTS and on Virginia Diverse Chamber social media sites, attendance and remarks by Virginia Diverse Chamber leadership, an actual cutting of the ribbon or breaking of ground, and limited assistance with refreshments.

Priority Seating at Chamber Signature Events

The Virginia Diverse Chamber hosts signature events and receptions each year. Virginia Diverse Chamber members (upon receipt and payment of reservations on or before stipulated deadlines) and their guests (who are seated at the same table with them) will receive priority seating selections.

Priority Pricing at Virginia Diverse Chamber Signature Events

The Virginia Diverse Chamber will offer tickets to Virginia Diverse Chamber members at a price less than the marketed price of the tickets. Guests of Virginia Diverse Chamber members may also be eligible for tickets at discounted prices. Virginia Diverse Chamber members must purchase tickets within prescribed time frames and deadlines to receive discounts associated with membership.

Strategic Advocacy

The Virginia Diverse Chamber Organization is led by a diverse group; president and leadership advisory board. Members of the Virginia Diverse Chamber leadership advisory board assume their roles with the expectation they will actively serve as advocates for all Virginia Diverse Chamber member companies. The composition of the leadership advisory board includes corporate leaders, politicians, public officials, professional consultants, educators, community advocates, community development, financial intuitional advocates, small business owners, and more. Collectively, these individuals serve on dozens of other boards, committees, task forces, and other leadership positions where they speak up and speak often about the Virginia Diverse Chamber in general and its members in particular.

Matchmaking and Referrals

The Virginia Diverse Chamber will identify opportunities for members can present their goods and services to buyers and purchasing agents for government agencies, private corporations, non-profit groups, and other small businesses. When possible, members may set up display space that highlights their products, capabilities, and marketing materials. Virginia Diverse Chamber administrative staff will assist members as much as possible.

Matchmaking and referrals on a small-group or individual scale are done on an ongoing basis. Virginia Diverse Chamber distributes the directory and annual report to buyers on an ongoing basis and invites buyers to search the Virginia Diverse Chamber website directory for vendors.

Virginia Diverse Chamber Endorsements

The Virginia Diverse Chamber administrative staff may provide letters of support, letters of recommendation, and letters of commendation, for Virginia Diverse Chamber members upon request. [Virginia Diverse Chamber administrative leadership staff reserve the right to decline requests that create a conflict of interest or that do not adequately reflect the standards, values, and mission of the Virginia Diverse Chamber].

STUDENT

This membership level is for full-time students (12 credit hours or more) enrolled at a four-year university or enrolled in a high school, middle school or elementary school. Membership applications from students under the age of 18 must include signature from a parent or legal guardian.

INDIVIDUAL

This membership level is for individuals who are NOT business owners, but would like to receive information and benefits from the Southwest Virginia Diverse Chamber of Commerce (Virginia Diverse Chamber). One-person companies and consultants are NOT eligible for this level of membership and should join at the Business level.

NOT-FOR-PROFIT

This membership level is for businesses operating under a 501 (c) (3) or similar, IRS-designated status. NOTE: Chambers of commerce seeking membership should observe this membership level.
SMALL BUSINESS
This membership level is for new business/startups, solo entrepreneurs, home based business and growing/expanding small businesses.

GOVERNMENT

This membership level is for government entities. This includes membership for entities at the city, county, state, and federal levels of government.

CORPORATE MEMBER

This membership level is for those corporations who seek to support and impact the Virginia Diverse Chamber mission by giving at financial levels that strategically sustain the organization and its programmatic thrusts over the long term. NOTE: Corporate Members’ benefits include additional perks.
