  • Charles Whiting is a distinguished Business Development professional and Small Business Advocate who currently serves as the President of Roanoke SCORE. With a wealth of experience and expertise in the field, Charles is also the Founder of Whiting Harrison, LLC Mergers & Acquisitions and EDL Mergers & Acquisitions.
    Prior to his current roles, Charles held significant positions in renowned organizations, including Sales Manager at Johnson & Johnson SE USA and Director of Sales at Worldwide STP Corporation. Charles’s diverse professional background also includes serving as a Retired Combat Officer in the US Army, where he honed his leadership skills and strategic acumen.
    Charles’s educational journey is equally impressive, with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Alfred State College and an Executive MBA from the University of Chicago. In 1993, as an Army veteran and entrepreneur, Charles made a strategic decision to sell his agricultural feed company in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Alfa-Laval in France. The successful sale led to an invitation for Charles to stay on post-sale and contribute to the company’s growth and success, showcasing his exceptional talents and business acumen.
    Driven by a passion for helping businesses thrive, Charles’s success story inspired other business owners to seek his guidance on positioning their companies for sale and ensuring a smooth transition for all stakeholders. This led to the establishment of a consulting business through which Charles facilitated over 140 transactions, making a positive impact on businesses across the country.
    In 2018, Charles’s commitment to community service and business excellence brought him to volunteer for an SBA non-profit organization, where he connected with like-minded entrepreneur Bruce Harrison. This encounter marked the beginning of a new chapter in Charles’s journey, further solidifying his reputation as a dedicated professional and mentor in the world of business development and mergers & acquisitions.
