Douglas Phason is a distinguished leader in the field of government relations and supplier diversity, currently serving as the Founder and President of the Phason Group. With a wealth of experience and expertise, Mr. Phason has made significant contributions to various organizations and initiatives throughout his career.
One of Mr. Phason’s notable engagements was with Elite Service Disabled Veteran-owned Businesses (SDVOB), where he provided valuable support in coordinating complex and technical analyses on regulatory matters. His efforts helped elevate the organization’s mission and enhance the services provided to its chapters and members on a national scale. Additionally, Mr. Phason holds the role of Vice President of Government Relations and External Affairs at the National Association of Minority Companies, Inc. (NAMCO), where he continues to make a positive impact through his advocacy and strategic leadership.
Prior to his current roles, Mr. Phason served as the Supplier Diversity Officer at the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), where he played a pivotal role in promoting supplier diversity initiatives. In this capacity, he was instrumental in encouraging 34 utility companies to prioritize purchasing goods and services from diverse firms, including minority-owned, women-owned, disabled veteran-owned, and LGBT-owned businesses. Mr. Phason also served as the Senior Advisor to the CPUC Commissioners, providing valuable insights and guidance on critical issues.
Before his tenure at the CPUC, Mr. Phason held the position of Associate Director at AT&T for Regulatory Affairs, where he played a key role in shaping regulatory policies and strategies. With over 31 years of dedicated service, Mr. Phason made significant contributions to the telecommunications industry before transitioning to his impactful roles in government relations and diversity advocacy.
