Dr. Antoinette Vinciguerra

Community Engagement Liaison

Dr. Antoinette Vinciguerra, affectionately known as Toni, is a dynamic and dedicated program leader with over fifteen years of experience in education and library services. Her personal philosophy, “approach each day with curiosity and keep learning,” has been the guiding force behind her impactful career.

Toni’s educational journey began with a strong academic foundation, earning dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Psychology from California State University, Long Beach. Driven by a deep commitment to equity and justice, she dedicated fifteen years to teaching, where she not only instructed in English, AVID, and Impact programs but also worked tirelessly to support disenfranchised youth.

Eager to expand her impact, Toni transitioned to the role of a school librarian at the very high school where she had previously taught, leveraging her experience and passion for education to foster a love of learning and literacy among students.

Seeking to deepen her knowledge and expertise, Toni pursued advanced degrees, earning a Master’s in Education, Librarianship from Azusa Pacific University, and later obtaining her Doctorate in Education from the University of Phoenix. Upon relocating to Virginia, she furthered her qualifications by completing a Master’s in Library Information Science from San Jose State University.

For the past five years, Toni has been an integral part of the Roanoke Public Libraries, serving as the branch manager of the Williamson Road Branch Library. Her dedicated work and her ability to connect with the community led to her being appointed as the branch manager of the Raleigh Court Branch Library, where she now supports a large number of teens from Patrick Henry High School who frequent the library after school.

As a librarian, Toni has been afforded the opportunity to be immersed in a diverse community, be a source of knowledge, and assist in uplifting the neighborhood. She is deeply grateful for the chance to lead at the library, where she continues to find meaning in encouraging resiliency among teens and families. Her unwavering dedication to fostering a love of learning and providing support to her community has made her a valued and respected leader in the field of library services.
