Wake Up Everybody: Virginia Diverse Chamber of Commerce Hosts Community Education Gun Safety Event
On July 29th, 2022, the Virginia Diverse Chamber of Commerce organized a transformative community education event titled “Wake Up Everybody” in Roanoke, Virginia. The event aimed to rally community members, organizations, and stakeholders to come together, engage, and make a positive difference. 
 
The Chamber distributed Gun Safety kits to all attendees.
With a diverse range of participants, including the Roanoke City Sheriff Department, Virginia Health Department, MPOWER Fitness, Total Awareness Gun Safety Defensive Safety Solutions, Boxing and Brawling, 727 Kombat Fitness Hub, and numerous residents, the event fostered collaboration and empowerment.

Promoting Community Engagement:

The Virginia Diverse Chamber of Commerce understands the significance of community engagement in fostering a thriving and inclusive society. “Wake Up Everybody” was designed to inspire residents to actively participate in shaping their community’s future. By bringing together a wide array of organizations and stakeholders, the event aimed to encourage dialogue, collaboration, and the sharing of insights and resources.
 
Total Awareness Gun Safety Defensive Safety Solutions made a significant contribution to the “Wake Up Everybody” community education event through the expertise of its President, Patrick Garland. As a former Sheriff, corrections officer, and concealed weapons training facilitator, Garland served as a key presenter on gun safety, answering community questions and demonstrating proper gun safety practices and techniques.
Garland’s extensive background in law enforcement and firearms training provided attendees with valuable insights and guidance on responsible gun ownership and safe handling practices. His experience as a former Sheriff and corrections officer allowed him to draw upon real-world scenarios and provide practical advice on enhancing personal safety while respecting legal requirements.
 
During the event, Garland engaged with the community by addressing their questions and concerns related to gun safety. This interactive approach fostered open dialogue and increased awareness about the importance of responsible firearm ownership.

Total Awareness Gun Safety Defensive Safety Solutions 

The Virginia Health Department contributed valuable knowledge and resources to promote public health awareness. Through informative  discussions, they addressed key health issues and provided attendees with tools to improve their well-being. Free COVID-19 tests were distributed.

MPOWER Fitness, Total Awareness Gun Safety Defensive Safety Solutions, Boxing and Brawling, and 727 Kombat Fitness Hub represented organizations focused on physical fitness, personal safety, and self-defense. These participants shared their expertise and provided demonstrations to empower attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves and lead healthier lives.
