Andrew Grider serves as the Mentor Protege Liaison for the Virginia Diverse Chamber of Commerce, where he leverages his diverse background and entrepreneurial spirit to support emerging business leaders. Growing up in a military family, Andrew had the opportunity to experience different cultures and communities around the world, ultimately settling in Roanoke, VA, during his seventh-grade year. His academic excellence culminated in his graduation as valedictorian from Cave Spring High School in 2016.
Pursuing a degree in Building Construction at Virginia Tech, Andrew’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2017 when he founded Southern Sun Landscaping. Under his leadership, the company has not only thrived but also earned recognition as one of the top 10 “Best Local Companies for Home Services” by WSLS in 2019, thanks to its commitment to exceptional customer service. His passion for innovation led him to establish Global Disinfecting, where he serves as CEO, further showcasing his ability to identify and capitalize on market needs.
Andrew’s dedication to community service is evident through his support of the National Roanoke Community Beautification Day since its inception in 2020, reflecting his belief in the importance of giving back. In 2024, he expanded his leadership role by transitioning to Vice President of Grapevine Home Renovations, where he continues to drive growth and innovation.
As the Mentor Protege Liaison, Andrew is committed to empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, sharing his insights and experiences to help them navigate their own paths to success. His vision for the future includes demonstrating his unwavering belief in the power of entrepreneurship to transform communities.
